In 1971 Houghton Coldwell Ltd reached an agreement with Prescott Hill Ltd owned by Jan Sontrop based in The Netherlands for the export of Biota's to Europe. The first public appearance was during the 1971 "Auto RAI" in Amsterdam. This was followed by a tour throughout Europe to gain more awareness for Biota. Due to the European safety requirements for a crash test only 1 car in Belgium and 4 cars in The Netherlands were sold.
